The Certified Financial Markets Praktitioner (CFMP) Certification designation was introduced in 2007 to provide training and create an objective measure of the experience, knowledge, and integrity that is necessary to conduct work in the financial markets.

A syllabus of material, referred to as the Body of Knowledge (which can be bought over this website), was developed, which outlines concepts that all professionals practicing in financial markets should master. The Body of Knowledge includes comprehensive educational material in management, accounting and finance. Review courses and examinations are offered on these topics through the Management Laboratory or Organisations certfied by the Managent Laboratory to hold these classes.

Professionals must meet stringent standards of education, experience, and professional conduct that have been developed and are administered by the standards committee in conjunction with the faculty.

Each person who completes the requirements is expected to serve his or her clients in an independent, competent, and professional manner, and to exercise unprejudiced and unbiased judgment on each client´s behalf. In addition, each person who achieves certification is required to remain active as a professional, to abide by the association´s Code of Ethics, and to complete at least 20 hours of continuing professional education during each two-year period, including one hours of ethics credit.
